Ο Πάπας Λέων ο Δέκατος Τέταρτος έκλεισε το Άγιο Έτος του δύο χιλιάδες είκοσι πέντε καταδικάζοντας τον καταναλωτισμό και τα αισθήματα κατά των ξένων, αφού τριάντα τρία εκατομμύρια καθολικοί προσκυνητές επισκέφτηκαν τη Ρώμη. Τόνισε στους χριστιανούς να καλωσορίζουν τους ξένους και να επιδιώκουν την ειρήνη.
