Ο Υπουργός Δικαιοσύνης της Κύπρου έχει κηρύξει προσωπικό πόλεμο κατά του οργανωμένου εγκλήματος παρουσιάζοντας ένα πλήρες σχέδιο που περιλαμβάνει τη δημιουργία μίας Κυπριακής υπηρεσίας παρόμοιας με το FBI, την κατάσχεση περιουσιακών στοιχείων των εγκληματιών, την κατασκευή μιας νέας φυλακής, τη δημιουργία μιας ανεξάρτητης ακτοφυλακής και τον εκσυγχρονισμό της πυροσβεστικής υπηρεσίας.
