Ο πρόεδρος των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών είπε πολλές φορές ότι θα συναντηθεί με τον Βολοντίμιρ Ζελένσκι μόνο όταν η διπλωματική διαδικασία ειρήνης είναι σχεδόν τελειωμένη. Σύμφωνα με τον πρόεδρο της Ουκρανίας, το σχέδιο ειρήνης είναι ενενήντα τοις εκατό έτοιμο.
