After criticism, the Parliament of Cyprus softened the law on public assemblies. Deputies removed the mandatory appointment of an organizer for rallies and lifted the responsibility for the actions of participants from them. The minimum threshold of 20 people has been abolished, it has been clarified that individual acts of violence do not automatically make a gathering illegal, and restrictions are now only possible in cases of 'absolute necessity.' The AKEL party abstained, stating that the changes are insufficient.
